Coments about "Scarlet Ibis"

What I think about the story is that the plot is really sad. The relationship between those two brothers was really awful.

In addition to this and as I mentioned before, the story was very sad for many reasons. First, before the invalid kid was born the family has already planned a life with him, but when they realized that he was invalid they got disappointed and were almost sure that he was going to die. Second, the relationship between these two brothers was getting better during time, until a last problem that cost the younger brother’s life.

Also, in the beginning the relationship between those two was really tough, first of all the big brother felt ashamed because his brother was not normal and that this was invalid, but I think that you cannot be ashamed because if your brother is invalid you should help him all the time like the big brother were doing later and I think that the reasons to do this were the incorrect. 

Letter to Jim

Dear Jim:

Hi, how are you? The reason of this letter is to ask you that you tell me what happened the last Christmas with Della, because somebody told me something, but I want it to hear your version of the story.

Someone told me that you have some problems with the set of combs that you bought for your wife; I know that the problem is solved, but I want it to give you an advice. Please before you buy something to each other, talk about that so you are not going to have problems then.

Another thing you need to think that Christmas isn’t time to give thing to other people, but to be with people that you love most. In that day I think that you need to spend more time with your wife and with the people that is around you and that you love.

O. Henry's biography

O. Henry was the pseudonym of William Sydney Porter, who was a storyteller, journalist and pharmacist. He was born in September 11, 1862 and die in June 5, 1910.

His life was a little stormy, at the age of three, his mom died of tuberculosis, and then his life start to change. He went to his grandmother’s house with his dad. After years he moved to a friend’s house and he lives there for three years. And it was there and because of a cat called Henry and the expression: OH HENRY! That he start to use that pseudonym, also he start to drink.

He gets married twice and has two children, but one died.

He lives in many places escaping from accusations of embezzlement of founds, after a few years he came back to E.E.U.U., because his wife was dying, and he was arrested. He writes a lot of short stories.

He died in June 5, 1910, because of liver cirrhosis.

Letter

Dear Ellen:

The reason of this letter is to thank you for being so protective with your daughter and to tell you the really good mother you really are.

You showed to have a great courage in front of your daughter, thanks to that she didn’t get scared with the things that were happening at your back and that’s so admirable of you.In addition, I want to tell you that you should remain that way of caring for your little girl, like you were doing until now, because you are doing it very well.

I have nothing more to say than take good care of you and your daughter and try not to walk alone at night or in the rails because it’s too much dangerous

My holidays

In my holidays I went to the south of Chile, specifically to Coronel to spend time with my mother's family with my boyfriend, my mom and a cousin.

We spent there like a month and visit many places like the beach where we were camping for a weekend; there we did a lot of things like swim, play Jenga, a bonfire and many other things funny.

Then, we visit Yumbel and Salto Del Laja where we saw the beautiful things and landscape that Chile have and we had a really fun time there.

After that, we come back to Santiago and come back to the reality.
